Quick and Easy Turkey Taco Meat
This secret ingredient recipe for turkey taco meat is not only healthy, it is also one of the easiest, most flavorful and versatile recipes ever!

  • 1 lb . ground turkey
  • 1/2 yellow onion , chopped
  • 1 small can of green chilies
  • 1 8 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1 T olive oil
  • Taco seasoning to taste , about 2-3 T
  • Salt and pepper , to taste
  • Splash of chicken broth or water , if needed
  1. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat, add olive oil and chopped onion. Cook until the onions are softened
  2. Add ground turkey and salt and pepper, to taste
  3. Break turkey into pieces using a wooden spoon. Cook until turkey is cooked through and no longer pink
  4. Sprinkle taco seasoning over cooked turkey mixture and add the tomato sauce and green chilies, stir to combine. Add a splash of chicken broth or water, if needed, to loosen up the sauce a little.
  5. Reduce the heat to a simmer and ccontinue cooking for about 10 more minutes until the mixture is thickened
  6. Serve with your favorite toppings
  7. Enjoy!
  8. Note: This recipe can be made ahead of time and reheated as needed, or frozen, thawed and reheated as needed.
